Oscars 2020: Parasite Wins 'Best Picture' Last Updated : 10 Feb 2020 10:52:28 AM IST Bong Joon-Ho with Academy Award South Korean film "Parasite" directed by Bong Joon-Ho created history at the 92nd Oscars ceremony by winning the best picture. It is the first non-English to win the top honour.
At the gala on Sunday night, director Bong Joon-ho along with "Parasite" cast and crew got on stage as the audience gave a standing ovation to the team for their victory.The "thank yous" got a little long and soon, music started playing to get them off the stage.But the crowd, including Hollywood star Tom Hanks, clapped and cheered until the microphone was turned back on.South Korean film producer Miky Lee then paid tribute to Bong's "smile, his crazy hair, the way he talks, the way he walks, and especially the way he directs"."What I really like about him is his sense of humour and the fact is he can be really making fun of himself and he never takes himself seriously," she said.The film defeated films such as "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood", "Joker", "Jojo Rabbit" and "The Irishman" to win the best picture award.The comedy-drama also won in best directing, international feature film and writing (original screenplay).IANS Los Angeles For Latest Updates Please-
