Rail Budget 2014-15: Plans to bring bullet train, improve online ticketing

BULLET TRAIN: Gifting Prime Minister Narendra Modi's home state Gujarat, the Railway minister announced plans for introduction of a bullet train in Mumbai-Ahmedabad sector which will cost Rs.60,000 crore. Besides this, there is a plan to have a Diamond Quadrilateral network of high speed rail connecting major metros and growth centres. "It is the wish and dream of every Indian that India runs a bullet train as early as possible. Indian Railways is on its way to fulfil that long cherished dream," Gowda said.
