- 'Airlift' going strong, crosses 50 cr mark
Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar and Nimrat Kaur-starrer "Airlift", which revolves around the evacuation of Indians from Kuwait during the 1990 Iraq-Kuwait war, crossed Rs 50 crore mark on Monday. "Yes, #Airlift crosses ₹ 50 cr mark today [4 days]. Mon biz is OUTSTANDING. Power of strong content. Congrats @akshaykumar and Team #Airlift," trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted. Directed by Raja Krishna Menon, "Airlift", which released on Friday, saw a good growth over the weekend, and minted over 50 crores in just four days. The film collected Rs 12.35 crores on the first day. This Akshay Kumar starrer has received tremendous response from both critics and movie buffs. 'Airlift' is all about the time when Saddam Hussein attacks and takes over Kuwait, rendering several thousand Indians homeless.
