She found Rajesh Khanna very talented and co operative during the shooting of Ittefaq a year prior to The Train. Nanda was an established star when Shashi Kapoor was being considered for Jab Jab Phool Khile by director Suraj Prakash. Nanda encouraged the director to cast Shashi opposite her and the film turned out to be the turning point in Shashi’s career. Nanda and Shashi became a hit pair and they worked in 8 films.
