In 1963 the partly Eastman color film, Parasmani, directed by Babubhai Mistry, the ace cameraman who pioneered trick photography and special effects in Hindi Cinema, became a super hit. No doubt the special visual effects were a huge draw but the repeat viewership was drawn by the intrinsic content and Laxmikant Pyarelal’s music.
