- Jacqueline performs at PBL
Jacqueline Fernandez, the Bollywood star, performed at the Premier Badminton League up and running as the PBL begins with a sizzling Opening Ceremony in Mumbai on Saturday. Mumbai Rockets and the Awadhe Warriors will kickoff the badminton festivities on court, but before the likes of Saina Nehwal and HS Prannoy light up the badminton court, it will be Jacqueline Fernandez and music composers Salim-Sulaiman who get their entertainment-buttons working overdrive. Jacqueline is expected to perform dance to all her famous songs, while Salim-Sulaiman will then follow that up with a performance of the anthem of the Premier Badminton League, which has been rebranded from the Indian Badminton League, which was held a couple of years ago. "The Premier Badminton League will have the required glitz and glamour through this opening ceremony and will be followed by the high-intense sporting battles," Badminton Association of India chairman Akhilesh Das Gupta said in a statement. "I welcome both Jacqueline Fernandez and Salim-Sulaiman and look forward to their performances which will make the event memorable." PBL 2016 begins on Saturday, and go all the way up to 17 January, when the final of this team event will be held. The Premier Badminton League has six teams participating, and all the battles promises to be a riveting watch.
