- Mahesh Babu has donated 2.5 Lakhs to the family of a fan who died on his birthday
The 'Srimanthudu' actor's personal assistant delivered the cheque to distraught relatives, after the man was fatally wounded in a tragic road accident whilst transporting a cake home that he intended to share with his family in celebration of his favourite actor's 40th birthday. The fan, known as Abhishek, was travelling with a friend who was also injured in the collision and Mahesh wrote a second cheque to the road traffic victim who survived for 1 Lakh - approximately £1000. The compassionate star is known for his acts of kindness and is an ambassador for National Government Organisation (NGO) Heal-a-Child and works closely with Rainbow Hospital for sick children. However, the famous southerner has recently rubbished claims that he decided not to adopt his father's hometown of Burripalem. The investment in Burripalem, in the Guntur district of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh, would mean a complete renovation of amenities and regeneration of the village for its 3300 residents. He recently said: “I will adopt Burripalem in three months time and I am currently outlining plans to develop the village.†'Srimanthudu' was released just two days before Mahesh's birthday on august 7 and has accrued a total of 70 crore so far in its 11 days at the box office.
