Aamir’s Midas touch benefited them all

Aamir Khan, the perfectionist and cult hero of Bollywood, is also known for encouraging deserving aspirants and directors who have the spark and passion to make films with conviction. In 1998 Vikram Bhatt was hardly known whereas Aamir Khan was a Bollywood phenomenon with hit movies like Dil, Rangeela, Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar, Andaz Apna Apna and Raja Hindustani in his list of successes. Aamir had watched Vikram’s zreal as an assistant of Mahesh Bhatt during the making of Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke and unhesitatingly signed for the film Ghulam which Vikram was given to direct outside the Bhatt banner. Vikram Bhatt- Ghulam went on to become a hit and it established two names in Bollywood—Director Vikram Bhatt and its leading lady Rani Mukherjee.
