Ever wondered why so many north Indian girls are cast as actresses in south Indian movies? A Bollywood actor who occasionally works in the south film industry has revealed that casting of actresses in south Indian movies depends largely on skin tone. Arjan Bajwa stated during an interview to a leading new website that fair-skinned actresses are preferred in movies over talent. Arjan, who has been cast in a few Telugu movies, stated: "In South India, there is a fixed notion when it comes to casting a heroine—she usually tends to be fair-skinned—which explains why we see so many north Indian actresses flourishing in South cinema."
