Ranbir to play Lakhan in Karan's remake

Bollywood filmmaker Karan Johar has joined hands with Rohit Shetty to remake the famous yesteryear's hit 'Ram Lakhan' and according to the reports, Ranbir Kapoor has been approached to play the role of Lakhan in the film. Karan always wanted to cast Ranbir for the role, that was played by Anil Kapoor in the original. Earlier there were reports that due to Ranbir's hectic schedule, Karan has now finalise Varun Dhawan for the role, but now a source close to the production house said that Ranbir has already been casted for the role and search is on for other actors. There were also reports that to reprise the role of Jackie Shroff, Karan has signed one of his favourite Sidharth Malhotra, but according to the production house, nothing has been finalised yet. In association with Subhash Ghai's Mukta Arts, who directed the original version, 'Ram Lakhan' remake version will hit theatres in 2016.
