Rocking villains in Bollywood

Most villains in Hindi films are painted in black and white. They can be smugglers, small-time dons, or professional murderers. It eventually doesn’t matter because they are smashed to pulp by the hero who can do no wrong: or even if he does any wrong, does so for the right reasons. In spite of this obvious handicap, the Hindi film industry has given rise to some memorable villains. They have been a lot more popular than the heroes in their respective films, and given rise to a generation – and more – of followers who just cannot stop talking about them.
