- Salman attends sister's reception
Bollywood superstar Salman Khan in Himanchal Pradesh's Mandi district on Monday attended his sister Arpita's wedding reception here and thanked the people of this hill town for warmly accepting her as their daughter-in-law. Arpita tied the knot with Delhi-based businessman Ayush Sharma, grandson of former Union communication minister Sukh Ram and son of Himachal Rural development minister Anil Sharma, in a grand ceremony in Hyderabad on November 18 last year. It was the couple's first visit to Mandi after their wedding and "Dham", a traditional marriage feast with scores of delicious Himachali dishes was organised today. Arpita's father-in-law Sharma organised the community lunch for more than 10,000 people. 49-year-old Salman arrived along with his brother Sohail and mother Salma. Wearing a t-shirt and blue jeans, Salman tasted Himachal dishes and also danced to the tunes of melodious hill folk music. He remained on-stage for nearly four hours and kept the audience spell-bound. While interacting with people at Paddal Stadium, he said, "Now I have an emotional attachment with Mandi as my sister is married here and I have come here to hand over Arpita, who is my heart." Actor Salman Khan lands at Sundernagar near Mandi on Monday to attend sister Arpita Khan Sharma's wedding reception.
