- 'Singham Returns' collects 77.64 in opening week
It seems this is the season of making histories in Bollywood. 'Kick' is already making history and 'Singham Returns' is in tow. Its first week-end collection is 77.64, only after Kick. Taran Adarsh tweeted, "Singham Returns Fri 32.09 cr, Sat 21.05 cr, Sun 24.50 cr. Total – 77.64 cr nett. India biz. Ajay Devgn BIGGEST OPENER." Adarsh further posted on Twitter, "SinghamReturns is the SECOND BIGGEST OPENER of 2014. After Kick. Note: 3-day weekend. India biz." What is interesting is the fact that 'Singham Returns' is doing well in multiplexes and on single screen as well. The credit also goes to Ajay Devgn for not budging to the pressures and releasing the movie on a weekend with many holidays. Trade analyst Komal Nahta tweeted, "Opening of 'Singham Returns' in single-screen cinemas also earth-shattering." Well done Ajay!
