Meena Kumari fell in love with and married director Kamal Amrohi, who was already married at the time. Meena Kumari became Film Director Kamal Amrohi's second wife. Her personal life also depicted the same tragedy as her films. Meena Kumari and her filmmaker husband Kamal Amrohi had started to develop strong differences, both professionally and in their married life. The fights eventually led to their separation in 1960, and ultimately divorce in 1964. It is said Meena Kumari had never found peace during her lifetime and had started drinking heavily after her divorce with Amrohi.
