Why did Big B not fast on this Karva Chauth?

Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan is known to fast on Karvachauth every year. This is his way of expressing his love for his dear wife Jaya Bachchan. But this year he did not fast. This was one of its kind incident when he broke his own rule. Big B says that he is taking some medicines and therfore the doctors did not allow him to go on fast. It needs to be reminded that of late Amitabh has been falling ill too often. This year, Karva Chauth fell on his 72nd birthday and the actor had a quite dinner with his family and close friends Anil and Tina Ambani after the festival at his residence Jalsa.
