- Youth should know Manjhi's inspiring story: Nawaz
Actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui says they want to take the inspiring story of Dashrath Manjhi to everyone through their film "Manjhi-The Mountain Man".Nawaz plays the titular role in the Ketan Mehta-directed biopic. He, Radhika Apte and Mehta were in Gehlaur, Manjhi's native village, today to pay their tribute to the 'Mountain Man' on his death anniversary. Manjhi broke down an entire mountain to create a path after his wife died due to unavailability of medical help. He died on August 17, 2007. Siddiqui said youth should watch the movie for its inspiring story of a man who broke down a mountain with his determination. "We have gathered to honour and celebrate his thoughts and ideas. We want the entire nation to know the story of Manjhi, especially the youth. This is a story which will inspire everybody with its message," he told reporters here. Mehta collaborated with Milap Social Venture to donate Rs 5,31,166 for the education in the village. "Since the past one year we had in mind that we not only want to shoot here but also give a concrete contribution to the area. We collaborated with Milap Social Venture to give a contribution to Dashrath Manjhi Trust. We want the money to be used in the field of education," he said. Manjhi's son Baghirath was there at the event which was flocked by villagers.
