Both Narendra Modi and Anandiben are known to each other right from their school days NM High School in Visnagar, Mehsana. She has been a daring lady with outstanding performances throughout her life. As a teenager she was an outstanding athlete. In 1987, she had jumped into the Sardar Sarovar reservoir during a school picnic to save two girls from drowning. The act of bravery won her state-wide acclaim and a gallantry award from the governor.
