Exit polls and Election frenzy

The voters are very excited about the exit polls this time. The figures suggest that the voters' turnout has crossed the magical figures of the 1984 elections. What does this mean? Are we finally graduating into matured democracy? Election campaigns in 2014 surpassed its predecessors in terms of hype, crude attacks and counterattacks by opposing parties. While parties like the BJP and the Congress unleashed expensive advertising campaigns, the Aam Aadmi Party captured the interest of many – particularly in the urban areas – with its issue-based discussions to tempt the voter.
