Israeli jets and naval gunfire pounded the Gaza Strip on Tuesday, killing more than 30 people and injuring 100 more, as the government of Benjamin Netanyahu launched a large-scale military operation against the Islamist militant group Hamas in the coastal enclave.The armed wing of Hamas claimed that it fired several rockets at Jerusalem and Israeli cities Tel Aviv and Haifa today."For the first time, the (Ezzedine al-) Qassam Brigades strike Haifa with an R160 rocket, and strike occupied Jerusalem with four M75 rockets and Tel Aviv with four M75 rockets," a statement said.
