Two million Muslims to perform Haj this year

This is the first time that the expanded areas of the Grand Mosque, one of the few places in the world where Muslims of all stripes gather, were used while construction was on at other places. The USD 60-billion Grand Mosque expansion will almost double the area for pilgrims to pray at the Kaaba. About 67 per cent of the King Abdullah Haram Expansion Project has been completed.
