A 200-year-old mummified monk sitting in the Lotus position discovered in Mongolia is not dead but in a "very deep meditation".The monk is in a very rare spiritual state known as 'tukdam' A Mongolian Buddhist monk, about 200-years-old, was found in Songino Khairkhan province on January 27th. The monk was covered with cattle skin and was found in the cross-legged lotus pose. Not only was he still in the sitting position but his open palms seem to be placed on top of each other in the 'dhyaan mudra'.An expert has claimed the monk may have been in a rare spiritual state known as "tukdam".
