Saina Nehwal joins BJP Badminton star Saina Nehwal took the political plunge on Wednesday by joining the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today.
The star shuttler joined the saffron party in the presence of BJP General Secretary Arun Singh.Heaping praise on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, she said he was an inspiration for her move to join the BJP."It's pretty new for me. I would like to contribute for the betterment for India. I have won medals for the country. I am a very hardworking and I love hardworking persons. I can see Prime Minister Narendra Modi does so much for the country, I want to do something for the country with him," the Khel Ratna awardee said, wearing the BJP scarf.In the light of the 2019 Delhi polls which are just around the corner, the former world number 1 will provide BJP with a much needed boost as she is likely to campaign for the elections.Saina Nehwal has brought glory to the country with her numerous achievements.
