Delhi flats sanitised to quarantine suspected corona cases Last Updated : 31 Mar 2020 06:39:46 PM IST file photo In order to create an isolation facility for suspected corona-infected individuals from Nizamuddin locality, the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC)'s health department on Tuesday reached Bakkarwala area to sanitise the flats.
NDMC has provided to Delhi government 240 EWS flats at Bakkarwala in West Delhi for isolation of suspected cases of coronavirus."We have ensured that fogging is done in every room and locality around the area. Other sanitation activities have been ensured so that the flats are safe for the patients," a senior NDMC official said.Meanwhile, NDMC's health and sanitation staff are spraying disinfectants in the New Delhi areas such as Chankyapuri, Khan Market, Laxmibai Nagar, C- Hexagon area near India Gate, Moti Bagh, Sarojini Nagar and other residential colonies.All senior officers of health and sanitation department are coordinating and monitoring sanitising and cleaning process.Delhi Police has cordoned off a large area at Nizamuddin West where several people showed symptoms of coronavirus after taking part in the religious gathering, Jain said, 1,033 people have been shifted to various places."Seven-hundred people who attended this congregation have been quarantined while around 335 people have been admitted to hospitals," Jain said, adding that screening of all those who participated in the event is being conducted by the government.
