People's faith in Central, state govts up in pandemic: IANS-CVoter survey Last Updated : 04 May 2020 05:30:39 AM IST Prime MInister Narendra Modi (File photo) The faith of the people in their respective state government and Union government has increased at the time of the pandemic when the whole nation is fighting to contain the spread of coronavirus which has caused havoc around the world, as per the IANS-CVoter Tracker findings.
As per the survey, a net average of 60.2 per cent people have faith in the Union government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Albeit less than the Union Government, the state government have also gained faith with net average of 50.7 per cent of the respondents reposing trust in them.
As per the survey, in all, a net average of 68.8 per cent people show a "lot of trust" in the Union government while 19.5 per cent have "some trust" and only 8.6 per cent have "no trust". A total of 3.1 percent did not proffer any opinion.
The urban population has 70.4 per cent trust in the Union government followed by rural India with 61.5 per cent and the semi-urban areas showed 53.3 per cent trust.
The state governments have also gained trust of the people in their states while managing Covid-19 and implementing the lockdown in their respective states.
Regarding the state government, 57.8 per cent people said that they have a "lot of trust" while 31.9 per cent express "some trust" and 7.1 per cent have shown "no trust". A total of 3.7 per cent did not formulate any opinion.
The urban population, at 61.4 per cent, seems to keeping more trust than rural areas at 50 per cent and semi-urban areas at 49.8 per cent.
People in south (57.5 per cent) are more satisfied with the conduct of their state government as per the survey, followed by north where the BJP-led NDA is in power in key states of UP, Bihar and MP, at 56.6 per cent.
In the western states, 49.4 per cent are with their government while in east, the number is lower at only 36.7 per cent.
But at a closer look, the survey shows that overall only 44.4 per cent people have said they have a "lot of trust" in the government.IANS New Delhi For Latest Updates Please-
