It’s true that Mamta Banerjee, well known as Didi, mean elder sister has won West Bengal Assembly election but the massive victory of BJP in Northern part of W. Bengal has became a nightmare for Didi. The efforts made by Union Minister of State for Culture and Tourism ( Independent Charge) Mr. Prahlad Singh Patel, who was in charge of this area, worked hard at the ground level which paid off. Mr. Patel was in charge of 42 assembly seats of Northern part of W. Bengal out of that BJP won on 25 seats with landslide victory.

The massive victory of BJP in Darjeeling and Alipurdwar was such that TMC could not manage to open its account in these areas. All the ten seats were won over by BJP, in few constituencies there was a situation neck to neck but all the stalwarts of TMC lost election with much of the difference. 

Mr. Prahlad Singh Patel had prepared a well-planned strategy, with the support of  local leaders and party workers to win over each booth. Mr. Patel, with his supporters and party workers organised too many tours and performed many road shows in the specific areas and worked hard which paid him off in BJP’s victory. He worked well with his strategy and “chai par charcha” worked very well, Mr. Patel contacted well with local populace and discussed extensively on the local issues, he visited door to door and made humble appeal to the people to help win the BJP candidates.

Mr. Patel worked with the same stretagy in Phansideva assembly area, he organised road show with the party candidate and other respected people of that area. A massive crowd appeared during his march, Mr. Patel appealed to the voters to support BJP candidate.


Mr. Prahlad Singh Patel organised a social program in Upper Bagdogara where he said we will not get tired before we win the election. During this visit Member of Parliament of Darjeeling Raju Bisht  was also present, Mr. Patel inspected the ground where PM Narendra Modi was about to visit, during the Rally of PM Modi a huge crowd showed up.


Mr. Patel organised many meetings and programs in Naxalbari area, he worked well with the local leaders and supporters, Mr. Patel encouraged local people by saying that all your efforts will pay you off in the victory of BJP. Mr. Patel made election strategy in Ghoshpukur party office, at this place many village heads and respected people have registered themselves in BJP, due to this heard work BJP candidate Mr. Anandmay Burman won over TMC candidate Rajen Sundas with huge difference.

Cabinet Minister Mr. Prahlad Singh Patel not only inspected the rally ground in Siliguri before PM’s rally but he made these rallies a huge success. Lakhs of people appeared in Siliguri rally. Mr. Patel showed his concerns about violence in CoochBihar election booths and he criticised Mamta Banerjee for all violence occurred here.

Mr. Patel visited historical Devi Chaudharani Temple, also saw the burnt Idols of Bhawani Pathak and Devi Chaudharani expressed his concerned. This place was an epicentre of Sanyasi Revolution. Mr. Patel criticised Mamta Banerjee on the dilapidated condition of this temple and delivering wrong information to the people about this place. He further stated that Mamta Banerjee has humiliated Bankim Chandra Chattopadhaya by not taking care of this temple. He also announced to organise a mega event in respect of Bankim Chandra Chattopadhaya. 

Mr. Patel was not allowed to organise Road Show in few areas of West Bengal so he appealed to the voters to vote for BJP during his Foot March. While reaching Jalpaiguri Sadar assembly area Mr. Patel campaigned in favour of BJP candidate Saujit Singh. But police didn’t allow him to organise road show in Shantipada so he had to go back in his office.
In Nagarakata Mr. Prahlad Singh Patel met with dignified persons and had a meeting there. He organised many road show in Banarhaat assembly area of Dhoopguri.

He was part of many rallies and public meetings which were addressed by Home  Minister Amit Shah and MP of Coochbihar Nisith Pramanik. Mr. Patel visited MJN Hospital in Coochbihar to meet many injured party workers who were wounded by the TMC workers in a scuffle.

In Siliguri Mr. Patel met with people of Gorkha community and patiently listened to their problems and promised them that all of them will be eradicated the moment BJP comes to power. Mr. Patel was successful in winning over confidence of Gorkha people its repercussion could be seen in the defeat of Mr. Bimal Gurung of Gorkha Janamukti Morcha even after the support of TMC.

Mr. Patel listened to the problems of the labourers of Tea Garden and assured them of eradicating every problem. He also assured them to implement minimum wedge as early as possible.

Mr. Patel attended a cultural programme just before Bengal election, State Governor Mr. Jagdeep Dhankhar attended this programme as a Chief Guest, Darjeeling MP Raju Bisht and MLA Neeraj Tamang also attended this program. 
After winning over more than 50 per cent seats in Northern Bengal Mr. Prahalad Singh Patel has proved his worth before the PM. Before this Mr. Patel was in charge of Manipur election, there BJP register heavy victory.

In Bengal election has won by TMC but the massive success of BJP can’t be ignored, in previous assembly elections BJP could manage only 3 seats but this time the number of seats has rose up to 77 this victory is more than 200 %, this shows that BJP has fought assembly elections with great valour and courage.
