Polling for the phase 2 of the Uttar Pradesh and Uttrakhand election came to an end at 5 pm. Overall 66% polling reported in Uttar pradesh, whereas in Uttrakhand 68 per cent voting reported till 5 PM
In UP second phase 67 constituencies in 11 districts of Uttar Pradesh voted.

54.27% voter turnout recorded till 3 PM
Around 54.27 per cent voting has been recorded till 3 pm in the second phase polls in Uttar Pradesh.
The fate of 721 candidates is to be sealed by balloting of 2.28 crore voters of which a sizable number (47.72 lakh) is of young voters, aged 18-19 years. Polling agents have been deployed in adequate numbers, an Election Commission official told media.
Chief Electoral Officer T. said that 2,983 of the total 23,695 polling booths have been identified as sensitive and security scaled up there.
Polling begins in Uttarakhand
Stakes are high for both the ruling Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the crucial assembly polls in Uttarakhand.
Both BJP ' title=' BJP '>BJP and Congress have run an extensive campaign in the hill state trying to woo the 75 lakh plus voters in favour of their candidates.
