5 at Manesar Coronavirus quarantine show cough, cold symptoms Last Updated : 04 Feb 2020 03:07:50 PM IST 5 coronavirus suspicion cases in Manesar Five individuals, out of the 252 students who arrived from Chinas Wuhan city and are quarantined at the coronavirus facility at Haryanas Manesar have shown symptoms of cough and cold and have been moved to the Indian Army's Base Hospital in Delhi Cantonment for better observation and treatment, an army spokesperson said on Tuesday.
"Samples sent for tests to All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS), of which the result of one individual is negative," a senior Indian Army officer said, adding that the results of balance four samples submitted earlier in the day are awaited.All the five individuals have been shifted to the isolation ward at the Base Hospital.India has set up coronavirus quarantine facility at Haryana's Manesar with the help of the army for around 300 students arriving from Wuhan. Many people from Wuhan, and a total 252 persons are being kept under observation at the centre."There is no case of coronavirus so far. All of them are under watch and those who showed symptoms of cough and cold have been shifted to the hospital," the spokesperson said.Responding to the emergency requirement of creating and managing a quarantine facility for around 300 Indian students coming from Wuhan, the Indian Army has set up such a facility near Manesar last week.The students are monitored at the quarantine for a duration of two weeks by a qualified team of doctors and staff members, to detect any signs of infection.The facility consists of accommodation barracks for the students, administrative areas and a medical facility area.To prevent a mass outbreak of the illness, the facility has been divided into sectors, each with a maximum capacity of 50 people.Each barrack has been further subdivided into smaller barracks. The population of the various such sectors will not be allowed to intermingle with each other.Daily medical examination of all students are done at the medical facility area and all the staff, health care workers and housekeeping staff must wear their personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.The personal protective equipment consists of mask, eye shield, shoe cover, gown and gloves.The rest of the visitors and all the student inmates wear a three layered mask at all times."After 14 days, persons with no symptoms will be allowed to go home with their detailed documentation sent to the District/ State surveillance units for further surveillance," the officer explained.
