Police on Wednesday seized here 540.75 kg cannabis and two trucks carrying the contraband and arrested two persons allegedly involved in inter-state narcotics trade.
Those arrested have been identified as Akbar Khan of Uttar Pradesh and Mantu Singh of Bihar, the police said.
According to the police, cannabis-carrying trucks were travelling from Berhampur in Odisha and were going to deliver the consignment to handlers here.
"They also supplied liquor to different parts of the country. They would procure the narcotics from Maoist-affected states of Odisha, Chhatisgarh and Andhra Pradesh," a police official said.
The police recovered 12 white plastic bags containing 116 small packets from the two trucks.
"Accused Akbar Khan has confessed that he has been involved in this trade since long and has links with various handlers," the officer added.
