Ganguly now to be discharged from hospital on Thursday Last Updated : 06 Jan 2021 12:55:59 PM IST Sourav Ganguly Former Indian skipper and the Board of Control for Cricke t in India (BCCI) presiden t Sourav Ganguly will now be discharged on Thursday, the Woodlands Hospital has stated in its lates t medical bulletin.
Ganguly had suffered a mild cardiac arres t during a workou t session a t his Behala residence on January 2. He had been moved to the Woodlands Hospital tha t day itself where he underwen t angioplasty.The 48-year-old had three blocked coronary arteries and a sten t was inserted in one to remove the blockage."Mr Ganguly will be discharged tomorrow as he wants to stay back one more day," the hospital said on Wednesday morning."Treating doctors will be keeping constan t vigil on his health situation and taking appropriate measures from time to time a t home," i t added.A nine-member medical team was formed a t the hospital to look after Ganguly.Earlier, noted cardiac surgeon Dr Devi Shetty said tha t the BCCI presiden t is stable and can now be discharged from the hospital."Sourav Ganguly is fi t and he can ge t back to normal life as i t was. He can be discharged tomorrow," Dr Shetty said on Tuesday.A medical team, led by state-run SSKM Hospital's cardiology departmen t head Dr Saroj Mondal, is currently looking after Ganguly's health check-ups a t the hospital.
