The very first Royal Rumble in 1988, was a 20 men elimination match in which Hacksaw entered the ring at number 13 and eventually stood as the last man standing in the ring - Hacksaw said while speaking to Betway.

 

It is ideal to stay away from people and avoid less contact for surviving a long time in the ring, as it is about longevity. Hence, most of the wrestlers spent more time in the corners of the ring as it was a safe place to stay while others are engaged physically.
