IPL 2022: LSG & RR frontrunners to join GT in top 4 - All playoffs possibilities in 11 points Last Updated : 17 May 2022 09:59:10 AM IST With just six matches left to play now in the league stage of IPL 2022, there still remain 64 possible combinations of results.
IANS looks at each of these possibilities to calculate the chances of individual teams making it to the playoffs. As things stand, one team is sure to top the group stage while two are definitely out of the playoffs, leaving seven teams still in with a chance of booking the remaining three slots. Here is how the teams stand as of Tuesday morning:* Despite having two more matches, MI is out of the reckoning for a playoff spot*CSK have one more match but no chance of making the playoffs. CSK can however damage RR's chances if they win their last game*SRH's chances of finishing in the top four spots on points have reduced to 6.3% and at best they can now be joint fourth with two or three other teams on 14 points*KKR's chances of making it to the top four on points are at 12.5%. But even that would be a joint fourth position shared between three or four teams on 14 points*PBKS' chances of making the top four on points dropped, after Monday's loss to DC, to just 12.5%. Like KKR, even a joint fourth would see them having to jostle in a three- or four-way tie for the last spot* DC's chances of making it to the top four slots on points have jumped after Monday's win to 75%. But even if they win their last game, the best they can do is be joint second in a three-way or four-way tie, which means they could lose out. If DC win their last game, but other results don't go their way, they could be joint third with one or two more teams*RCB's chances of making it to one of the top four slots remain at 75%. At best they can be joint second in a three-way or four-way tie where their poor net run rate could hurt them* RR is certain to finish either second or third on the points table. But this interestingly doesn't ensure qualification for the playoff stage as they can be joint second with up to three other teams or joint third with up to two other teams*LSG are similarly placed. At best they can get to joint second or joint third slot. They might share the second position with up to four teams and the third position with up to three teams*GT in its first IPL season remains the only team that has ensured qualification and has also guaranteed that they will end the league stage as the sole toppers of the points tableIANS New Delhi For Latest Updates Please-
