From people having Zoom weddings to only inviting close family members instead of everyone they know, Indian weddings definitely changed their approach. Now, making things more advanced and interesting, this couple from Tamil Nadu have decided to get married in the Metaverse. Yes, you read that right.
Dinesh S P and Janaganandhini Ramaswamy will get married on the first Sunday on February in Tamil Nadu's Sivalingapuram village - but their reception will be hosted digitally.
After the wedding ceremony, the couple will switch on their laptops to enter a virtual venue for their Hogwarts-themed reception, which will be attended by friends and family members from across the world, a source reported.
The Harry Potter-themed reception was ideated by Dinesh who said, "I came up with the idea of having a metaverse themed wedding, and my fiance also liked the idea," in a statement to Times of India.
Dinesh is an engineer and blockchain and NFT enthusiast, and Jaganandhini is a software developer.The wedding will take place with avatars of guests, and will be presided over by Jaganandhini's late father's avatar.Dinesh shared a glimpse of the wedding invitation on Twitter and wrote, "I feel so proud and blessed that I have seen and taken advantage of many great opportunities in this world before millions of people have seen them, Beginning of something big!
