Brazilian Serie A football club Gremio have signed veteran Argentine forward Gaston Fernandez as they bolster their squad for this year's Copa Libertadores.
The 33-year-old signed a two-year deal after leaving Universidad de Chile for an undisclosed transfer fee, media quoted Gremio's official website as saying on Saturday.
The contract includes an option of a third year.Fernandez scored seven goals in 19 matches for Universidad de Chile after joining the Santiago-based club from Estudiantes.
His career has also included spells at River Plate, Racing Club, Monterrey, UANL and Portland Timbers.
Gremio will make their 2017 Copa Libertadores debut with an away clash against Venezuela's Zamora on March 9.IANS For Latest Updates Please-
