Heroines who married directors

Meena Kumari married Kamal Amrohi. In 1952, on the sets of one of her films, Meena Kumari fell in love with and married her director, Kamal Amrohi who was fifteen years older and was already married. She produced a film in the following year titled Daera based on her own love story and it was directed by Kamal Amrohi. They went on to create Pakeeza after that working on the subject for six years and the film took 16 years to reach the screens . The marriage ended in divorce in 1964. Pakeeza was released in 1974.
