Photos:Flood situation worsens in Bihar and UP, major rivers in spate

Eastern parts of the state are the worst-hit, with flood waters submerging large tracts of land in villages and cities alike. In Ballia, a culvert on national highway 31 was washed away in the floods, but was repaired soon and the traffic was restored.
