MAG ON AL QAEDA HIT LIST: Charlie Hebdo was on al-Qaeda’s hit-list since it published controversial cartoons depicting the Prophet Mohammed in 2011. The last tweet on Charlie Hebdo’s account mocked Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, the leader of the Islamic State, which has taken control of large swathes of Iraq and Syria.
